CASE STUDY // Civic Public Square Activation
How Ballpark Coordinated 18 Sponsors to Build a 750+ Attendee Municipal Skate Festival
Impact Metrics → $28.8K+ Local Merchant Revenue | 18 Corporate & Civic Partners
CHALLENGE
Suburban municipalities often lack dynamic public space activations that engage youth culture, alternative sports, and local business ecosystems simultaneously. Meanwhile, independent creators and filmmakers face prohibitive logistical costs when screening regional documentaries, requiring a cohesive multi-sector alliance to turn a single theater screening into a high-yield community festival.
SOLUTION
Ballpark expanded a regional theater screening of Across America — an indie documentary following Long Island's own Chad Caruso’s 3,162-mile Guinness World Record skateboard push — into a massive, free public square activation. Partnering with the Village of Patchogue and Patchogue Arts Council, Ballpark coordinated live skateboard trick demonstrations, original music showcases, live deck painting, interactive art workshops, and a packed cinema Q&A panel. Ballpark secured and managed 18 public and corporate sponsors to fully fund the multi-disciplinary festival.
